INFO
This is by far the most popular trek in Nepal and is referred to as a highway trek by people who have trekked extreme remote routes. During the peak trekking season, Sep/Oct & Nov, it is overrun with trekkers. There is a good reason for this popularity. The trip is relatively easy except for a day or so out of Pokhara. The climb does not go above 13,000ft, so most trekkers will not be bothered by altitude sickness. The trekker will enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri &Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain). The trail passes through many interesting villages inhabited by different ethnic groups. Trekkers climb from lush low land forests to the arid wastelands of the upper Kali Gandaki, which the landscape is similar to the Tibetan plateau. Enjoy a visit to Muktinath temple 3798m and walk down to Jomsom. Fly back to Kathmandu via Pokhara.
